The board of directors of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) approved the appointment of Miguel Ángel Lozada Aguilar as the director of Pemex Exploration and Production.
Aguilar obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and a Master's Degree in Exploration and Production from the French Petroleum Institute.
He has authored and co-authored more than 22 technical articles that mainly include well productivity and artificial production systems.
Aguilar has worked at Pemex for more than 35 years in different Regions and Assets, in the areas of drilling, production and reservoir engineering. He was the manager of the Cantarell Production Asset for six years and later was appointed deputy director of Field Development. He was also president of the Specialty of Petroleum in the Academy of Engineering of Mexico for the period 2016-2018 and since 2016 to date is the deputy director of Technological Assurance in Pemex Exploration and Production.
