Kuwait University has signed a strategic research and development cooperation agreement with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).
The agreement was signed by the University's President, Prof. Hussein Al-Ansari, and Nayef Abdulla Al-Enezi executive vice president for Drilling and Technology in KOC.
The five-year agreement will look at cooperation in the field of reservoirs, heavy oil and natural gas, and aims to exchange technology, knowledge development in research and development.
Under the agreement, Kuwait University will focus on supporting the company's decision-making on intellectual property protection. This will include patents and analysis of the technical and marketing value of intellectual property to assist strategic decision-making.
Prof. Hussein Al Ansari said that the agreement is one of the most important agreements implemented by the university.
KOC’s Nayef Abdullah Al-Enzi stressed the importance of cooperation between the two parties in the service of greater research and development.
He praised the role of researchers at Kuwait University and their experience in applied research that serves all the oil sectors, pointing out that this agreement covers the research cooperation between the University and the Kuwait Oil Company, in light of the great challenges facing the oil sector imposed by the technological reality and the need to improve production and refining.
