Linde announced that it has completed and started up a new RM 28 million plant in Muar, Malaysia to supply high purity gaseous nitrogen.

The plant has been designed and built to primarily support the increased demand from STMicroelectronics, a leading global semiconductor manufacturer, which has a back-end (test and packaging) plant in Muar, Malaysia.

Built with state-of-the-art technology, the ECOGAN5 is a highly energy efficient, cost-effective and reliable plant that delivers a continuous stream of gaseous nitrogen.

Binod Patwari, President ASEAN, Linde, said: “Linde has long-standing associations with STMicroelectronics for over 30 years, and I am proud to see our cooperation grow from strength to strength with this latest start-up. This investment is a testament of our commitment towards not only the electronics industry in Malaysia, but also the country’s overall economic growth.”
