British engineering services company Wood Group said it was awarded a multi-million dollar contract on Husky Energy’s White Rose development off the coast of eastern Canada.

The contract will see Wood Group complete detailed engineering for the topsides for the White Rose, a concrete gravity-based structure wellhead platform, the UK firm said in a statement.

Wood Group said it had identified several project innovations to significantly reduce engineering person-hours and realise other savings at the project.

Robin Watson, chief executive of Wood Group, said, “We are combining our global expertise and capabilities from St. John’s, Canada; Houston; Sandefjord, Norway; and Bogotá, Colombia to complete White Rose in the next 12 months with a clear focus on adding value and delivering cost savings and efficient project delivery.”
