In the first two episodes of our Weatherford podcast series we have spoken about digitalisation. In this third episode with Etienne Roux we look at how innovation and collaboration has played a part in the transformation of the oilfield.
We learn about the types of technology partnerships Weatherford has been forming and why commercialisation plays a big part in the transformation of an oilfield.
President, Business Development & Marketing
Etienne Roux, President of Business Development & Marketing at Weatherford International plc, re-joined the Company in 2015, holding the position of Vice President, Drilling Services and latterly President, Drilling & Evaluation before taking on his current role. Prior to returning to Weatherford, Etienne held the role of Managing Director at ALS Oil & Gas with leadership responsibility for both the Surface Logging and Coring Divisions from 2011 through 2015. Before this, he served as Regional Product Line Manager for Drilling Services, covering Europe, Caspian and Sub-Saharan Africa at Weatherford.
Preceding his time at Weatherford, he spent 10 years with Schlumberger Ltd. in various operational, technical and management roles across a wide geography; assignments included Alaska, Venezuela, Louisiana (Gulf of Mexico Operations), Houston and Brazil. He received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, where he majored in Thermo dynamics and Alternate Energy Source Utilization, while studying under a full Anglo-American Mining Scholarship.
PROCUREMENT IN THE OIL AND GAS SECTOR

Arun Bruce is the head of the Operations practice and leads Boston Consulting Group's work in procurement in the Middle East. Arun joined BCG in 2003 and has worked across India, Europe, and the Middle East. He is a deep expert in procurement and cost reduction topics, and has worked across many industries on these topics.
Arun used to be a part of the India leadership team for the Industrial and Consumer Goods practices. Now he focuses his work on conglomerate, telco, government clients in the Middle East helping them transform their businesses, using procurement as a key lever.

He has more than 18 years of global consulting experience across energy, mining, industrial and technology sectors. Vinod Raghothamarao holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from NIT Surathkal, India and an MBA in Finance and Strategy from ESADE Business School in Barcelona Spain.

Dean Bell is President, Drilling, Evaluation & Intervention having joined Weatherford International plc in 2016 as Vice President, Intervention Services and Drilling Tools. Previously, Mr. Bell was Vice President of Drilling Tools and Remedial Services for Europe and Africa at Schlumberger based in Paris and spent 22 years with the company.
After time as a field engineer in MWD/LWD/Directional Drilling, his career spanned Operations Management positions in Central Asia, Latin America and the Gulf of Mexico, as well as General Management roles in Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Indonesia. Mr. Bell received a B.A.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and has attended Leadership and Negotiation Executive Education at Harvard Business School.

Prior to joining Kpler, Alex spent 11 years delving into the fundamentals of the crude oil and products markets for the trading operations at Citibank and BP.

President, International Operations
Frederico Justus is President, International Operations, at Weatherford International plc. He also serves on the Company’s Sustainability Committee, helping to provide a diverse perspective of sustainability needs across the organization.
In his more than 18 years in the oil and gas industry, he has worked across the globe. Under his leadership, Weatherford gained positive offshore market share distribution in the West Coast of Sub-Sahara Africa, won the biggest wireline contract ever executed in Kuwait, and also reduced non-productive time in the complex Saudi Arabia market by 50%.
Frederico graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree with specializations in Strategic Marketing from Stanford University and an Integrated Reservoir Management degree from the Institute of Petroleum and Imperial College, London.
