Building future youth capacities, expanding knowledge and creativity

Held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Tolerance and fully supported by Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), the Young ADIPEC programme is co-located with the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC) taking place from 11-14 November 2019, Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

Since its creation in 2013, the Young ADIPEC programme has received praise and recognition from across the oil and gas industry. Aimed at high school students aged between 14 – 17 years old, Young ADIPEC is designed to win the hearts and minds of today’s youth and highlight the wealth and diversity of career opportunities in the oil and gas sector. Over 2,500 students from across the UAE have passed through the programme since its inception in 2013.

In the 7th edition of the programme our aim is to grow student participation by 10 per cent as we prepare to engage and encourage students to explore the best the industry has to offer.

Young ADIPEC 2019 has been expanded to include seven components:

1 Ambassadors Programme

2 Outreach Programme

3 Field Trips

4 Alumni Programme

5 Experiential and Edutainment Programme

6 Young ADIPEC Talks

7 Internship Programme New

Young ADIPEC 2019 will welcome 650 Students from 30 schools. Students will be invited to go on a field trip to an oilfield site, training centre, innovation centre, workshop facility and have the opportunity to manufacture products.

Young ADIPEC recognises the benefits of learning through doing; these field trips are invaluable in providing hands on experience for students to further understand what it means to choose a career in the oil and gas sector.

Recent community news:

The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference annual youth programme (Young ADIPEC) reached out to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Al Fujairah, Ajman, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain high school students at the 7 Emirates Roadshow, ThinkScience 2019. Young ADIPEC Engineering platform provided the students with the opportunity to build a prototype, defi ne the problem, do development work, brain storm solutions and test and re design.

Internship Programme: New

Gain a professional hands-on experience through our Internship Programme. We offer work placement training to eligible UAE nationals who want to experience working in a professional environment whilst pursuing their education at university.

Application Requirements

This internship programme is for UAE nationals who meet the following requirements:

  • Students should be Young ADIPEC Alumni
  • Senior students in an accredited university/college or fresh graduate.
  • Major study should be related to a field that is relevant to the oil and gas industry
  • Committed to self-development, students must submit 100 words profile on why an employer should hire her/him.
