The third edition of the Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS) 2019, kicks-off today under the patronage of His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of The Arab Republic of Egypt under the theme “Delivering the Energy Needs of Tomorrow.”
Senior government officials and international dignitaries will attend the inauguration ceremony. The three-day event will incorporate a wide array of participation from the Egyptian government, including His Excellency Tarek EI Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Arab Republic of Egypt. Other international Ministers attending include His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil, Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency Azhari A. Abdalla Minister of Petroleum and Minerals, Republic of Sudan and His Excellency Abdourahmane Cissé, Minister of Petroleum Energy and Renewable Energy, Cote d’Ivoire.
Speaking on the occasion, Christopher Hudson, President of Energy Division at dmg events, expressed his gratitude for the Ministry of Petroleum’s unwavering support for the show throughout the past three years.
"2019 is certainly our biggest year yet - we've grown steadily every year since 2017. We've expanded the exhibition space to 28,000-square-foot, featuring 400 exhibiting companies and 13 country pavilions. Moreover, we introduced a new "Digitalisation in Energy" zone and a Youth Engagement Programme," Hudson said.
"EGYPS 2019 is anticipated to attract around 20,000 participants from North Africa and the Mediterranean region, and the rest of the world. On an annual basis, the event drives foreign spending into Egypt, especially on accommodation, transportation, and leisure, which in turn will have a significant impact on Egypt's tourism sector and its contribution to the country's overall GDP," he added.
The Opening Ceremony will take place in the presence of global leaders including His Excellency Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, Secretary General, Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), His Excellency Dr Xiansheng Sun, Secretary General, International Energy Forum (IEF), His Excellency Abbas Al Naqi, Secretary General, Organisation of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), Dr Houda Ben Jannet Allal, General Director, Observatoire Méditerranéen de l'Energie (OME), Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman, CEO, Total, Bob Dudley, CEO, BP, Russell Hardy, Group CEO, Vitol and Ibrahim Al-Buainain, CEO, Aramco Trading.
EGYPS 2019 will run for three days featuring six dedicated conference tracks: Strategic, Technical, Women in Energy, HSE in Energy, Security in Energy and Finance & Investment, with more than 200 speakers and 1,200 delegates.
It is worth noting that EGYPS 2019 will be held under the support and attention of Apache, British Petroleum (BP), Dragon Oil, ENI, Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), ExxonMobil, Total, Kuwait Energy Company, Baker Hughes, a GE company, Cheiron, Petronas, Schlumberger, Schneider, DEA (Deutsche Erdoel AG), Edison, Halliburton, McDermott, Subsea 7, ARGAS (Arabian Geophysical & Surveying Company), Carbon Holdings, Mubadala Petroleum and Noble Energy.
